C#/C++ Mid-Tier Developer- Saint Louis, MO

Description:
Scottrade, Inc has a Mid-Tier C#/C++ Application Developer position available in St. Louis, MO. The main purpose of this position is to specialize in one or more areas of new application development. The Developer will be responsible for analyzing, programming, documenting, debugging, and testing applications in the development environment.
Responsibilities:
* High level understanding of technologies, procedures, and concepts within specialized area with the ability to translate high-level requirements into detailed technical designs.
* Develop new products and support applications already in production.
* Adhere to pre-defined programming standards set by Application Architects and develop recommendations regarding further definition of development standards and application architecture principles.
* Create documentation using established PMO standards including UML diagrams.
* Use source control systems such as VSS, CVS or TFS.
* Perform unit testing and assists in user testing of programming modifications.
* Lead and facilitate design sessions and code walk-throughs and mentor Analysts on technical and functional aspects of the applications.
* Provide technical estimates.
* When assigned, is prepared to address system problems during off hours with the guidance from other members of the development staff as needed.
* Attend staff and departmental meetings providing status updates to Team Leaders.
* Develop and maintain effective partnerships with Scottrade product development and business teams in order to understand and anticipate their needs, the business environment, other challenges and opportunities.
* Maintain technical knowledge through training or other measures.
Experience:
* 5+ years of proven success as an application developer required including knowledge of relational database concepts, including interacting with databases from client applications using stored procedures,
* 5+ years of programming experience using OOP.
* 5+ years of programming experience using C++ or C#.
* 5+ years experience with application communication API's including JMS, COM, and sockets.
* 5+ years experience in writing and debugging multithread applications.
* Knowledge of trading protocols such as FIX, a big plus.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
